24 Works on Paper

June 23rd, 2017 All Day - August 5th, 2017
"24 Works on Paper", a travelling exhibition of work by living Oklahoma artisits, will open to the public on June 23rd at the Ponca City Art Center, 819 E. Central Ave. The exhibition will then travel the state for over a year, bringing original, contemporary Oklahoman artwork to viewers in communities large and small. Lydie Marland in the Afterlife

"Lydie Marland in the Afterlife" will be presented at Ponca Playhouse at 301 S 1st St. in Ponca City and will be performed on July 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, and 22 at 730 pm and on July 16 and 23 at 2 pm. Tickets are on sale for $20 at the box office of Ponca Playhouse. The box office is open Monday - Friday from 11 am to 3 pm. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 580-765-5360 or purchased online at www.PoncaPlayhouse.com.

The 31st Annual Cherokee Strip Cook-off will once again be held on the banks of Lake Ponca in Ponca City, Oklahoma. The cook-off is a State Championship and sanctioned by KCBS. You will have an opportunity to taste some of the best barbeque available cooked by professional cooks. Activities include musical entertainment, and a People’s Choice award given to the crowd-selected favorite BBQ and Chili.

Standing Bear Pow Wow

The Standing Bear Powwow begins on Friday evening with gourd dancing, followed by a majestic procession known as the Grand Entry. On Saturday, gourd dancing begins in the early afternoon and continues throughout the day. Food vendors and artisan booths featuring Native American arts and crafts are ever-present.
